Artist Talk with Araakaa and Anyu, the duo behind BLINKERS OFF

Avahteri Gallery hosted an artist talk last night with the artist behind the ongoing art exhibition, Araakaa, along with the writer of the limited edition book, Anyu.

The duo spoke about their creative process and engaged in an insightful conversation with the audience in regard to their work. Lulua and Zain, owners of Avahteri Gallery, spoke on their journey with the artist while preparing for this exhibition. Whilst discussing their decision to display Araakaa’s artwork, they alluded to the importance of exposing viewers to different styles of art. Reiterating their aim as a gallery to encourage a conversation that leads to diversity of thought and subsequent creations.

The conversation also touched upon important topics ranging from the role of a gallery in the artist’s journey, the process of valuing an artwork and the importance of having a conversation about art.

The exhibition is open for public viewing at Avahteri Gallery in Hulhumale’ from 4pm to 10pm until the 26th of September 2019.
