Prelude – A Solo Exhibition by Samah Ahmed

Samah Ahmed continues to explore deeper into the blue in her latest solo exhibition, titled ‘Prelude.’ Opened on 23rd February 2025 at the relocated Gallery 350, the multi-part series delves about the flow of thoughts and feelings, bringing together a collection of paintings instilling a sense of calm through disconnect and solitude.

Previously having exhibited at the National Art Gallery as well as Art Gallery Male’, Samah replaces the dreary buzz of the island with solitude and calm.

Samah introduces herself as a swimmer before an artist as her work is a show of undeniable and unfathomable admiration for the ocean. While ocean has been her inspiration, ‘Prelude’ has been more about the colour blue and what it represents rather than a fair depiction of her connection with the ocean.

‘Prelude’ is open till 6th April 2025 at the Gallery 350, Husnuheena Magu, Male’.
